It is the direct link between Bușteni and the Bucegi plateau, towards Babele, the Sphinx and the Heroes' Cross; it holds 3.7 on Google from more than 4,400 reviews.
About the place
The lower station is on Telecabinei Street, next to the old paper mill, and the cabins climb a line of about 4.35 km, rising more than 1,200 m, to Babele at about 2,200 m. The upper station, the Babele rocks and the Sphinx belong administratively to Moroeni commune in Dâmbovița county. From Babele a second cable car runs down to Peștera, and the Heroes' Cross is about an hour and a half's walk across the plateau.
The line is run by Genetrix, which publishes the timetable on teleferic.ro. The first ride up is at 8:30, the last ride up at 15:00 and the last ride down at 16:00. On Tuesdays the first cabin leaves at 10:30, after the weekly technical inspection.
Good to know
- Strong wind or severe cold can stop the cable car; check teleferic.ro before you set off.
- The Babele–Peștera cable car runs only from Friday to Sunday; Monday to Thursday it is under inspection.
- On busy days go up first thing, and do not miss the last ride down at 16:00.
